Bergen Airport (BGO / Flesland) feels friendlier than OSL — until rain arrives sideways and every tourist discovers the same bus stop.
Getting into town
Light rail (Bybanen) is the calm default for many travellers: predictable, scenic in a grey-sky way, and hard to get dramatically lost. Airport buses exist for luggage-heavy days. Taxis work; they are not a bargain.
When flights wobble
Western Norway weather loves drama. If your inbound is marked New time on the flight board, assume the city transfer still works — but do not book a boat departure thirty minutes after a “maybe” landing.
One local truth
Bergen rewards flexible plans. Build a cushion between touchdown and anything that cannot move: fjord cruise slots, train seats, dinner reservations with friends who text in ALL CAPS.
